When you make a choice only to realize that it is filled with clouds, what do you do?
Buck up and live with it, or try to fix the situation? Or do you realize you said yes too soon and, as graciously as possible, say no?
When I said yes to a responsibility only to realize that it was NOT going to work for me or the other party, I had to stop and take stock of my own decision making process. Did I
see the red flags, but ignore them? YES Did I stop and ask myself some important questions before accepting the position? No, I didn’t.
I ignored the red flags because I was looking at the situation from my head and not including my inner knowing in the process. Since my time and energy would have been involved, it was important to stop and ask myself some internal questions.
1. Am I taking the necessary inner time or quiet time to evaluate the red flags?
2. Is this choice completely consistent with my life purpose?
3. Will I be able to express my wisdom and expertise in a way that is life-expanding
for everyone involved?
When I couldn’t answer yes to two out of three, I knew I had to reconsider my decision
and make a new choice that expanded my well-being and that of everyone concerned.
